Maluma‘s dreams continue to grow. Today (July 18), at Premios Juventud, the Colombian singer will be honored for his great humanitarian work with his foundation, El Arte de los Sueños (The Art of Dreams).
On Wednesday (July 17), the foundation held a party to celebrate his recognition and introduce the concept of El Arte to those in the United States.
“I have many dreams,” Maluma tells Billboard. “There is a new generation with a lot of talent and I want all of them to know that dreams do come true as I am achieving mine. The Art of Dreams is the perfect trampoline to help young people in Colombia who can’t afford to develop their dreams. ”
In 2016, Maluma founded El Arte de los Sueños which is headed by his sister Manuela Londoño, who is the president. The organization focuses on getting young people out of the streets and poorest neighborhoods.
Now, the siblings are working to expand the organization outside of Colombia.
The 2019 edition of Premios Juventud will award the “agent of change” award to recognize those who help to build a better tomorrow for future generations. This year marks the first time an artist has been honored; in addition to Maluma, the duo Jesse and Joy will also be honored.
