Maluma made his debut on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he not only performed but also had a nearly 10-minute chat with the talk-show host on Thursday (March 4).
Via a virtual interview, DeGeneres at her studio in California and Maluma from Miami, the two stars talked about their love for home decor and animals. “It’s my favorite place in the world,” the Latin popstar said about his farm in Colombia.
“Every time I’m there I reconnect with my soul […] I really love being there,” he notes, emphasizing that he has 25 horses, cows, goats, chickens, and many more animals. He also admits: “Sometimes I forget to shower when I’m on the farm.”
Maluma also talked about the inspiration behind his stage name, his acting debut alongside Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson in the forthcoming movie Marry Me, his latest album #7DJ (7 Días En Jamaica), and becoming the first man on the cover of Elle magazine. “It’s a big deal, I couldn’t believe it,” he shared.
Toward the end of the interview, Ellen surprised the Latin singer with a plaque commemorating his hit song “Hawái” going 14x platinum. In addition, Maluma performed his newest single, “Agua de Jamaica.”
