Singer-songwriter-producer Maejor, known for his production work with the likes of Trey Songz and Justin Bieber, premiered the video to his latest single, “I Love You,” on Wednesday (Aug. 7) featuring Colombian rising star Greeicy.
Directed by Chandler Lass, the romantic video for the bilingual song shows Maejor and Greeicy riding in a pale blue 70’s classic convertible car, walking together, smiling and surrounded by palm trees. They then have a picnic in Miami Beach while he plays guitar and sings to her.
“I’m grateful for Greeicy being in the song and singing so beautifully in Spanish, as I believe music is a universal language that we can all feel and connect to – no matter where we are from, our age, our race, gender or anything else,” said Maejor.
“I wrote the song to share love healing and positivity all over the world,” Maejor (real name Branon Green) told Billboard. “I started it out in Desert Hot Springs in California. I couldn’t sleep because I was tapping and humming a melody that later became this song. I believe being out in nature helped me to come to the place of stillness necessary to write something so simple but meaningful to those who have heard it.”
Maejor said his new song – which he produced – goes beyond just being a feel-good track. Inspired by sound therapy, the track uses 432 HZ tuning, which is considered a healing frequency, into commercial music.
“A simple way of describing the process is that by the music vibrating in frequencies that match nature they help bring the listener into increased harmony,” says Maejor.
“Today, it is my life mission to find a way to heal the planet through music. I’ve been studying Tibetan monks, sound baths, binaural beats, brainwaves, and how sound can be used to heal. There are doctors using this technology and people using it in the spiritual community, but I’m really passionate about merging it into mainstream music. This is something new and something different which will hopefully inspire other artists. I hope it inspires you, uplifts you and makes you feel good”.
Frequency ranges are used in a variety of treatments from around the world to help heal ailments including insomnia, anxiety, depression and Parkinson’s disease, and are commonly used to help assist with meditation.
“I Love You” follows a string of U.S chart successes for Maejor, including hit single “Lolly” featuring Justin Bieber & Juicy J, which peaked at number 19 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and “Vai Malandra”, his collaboration with Brazilian superstar Anitta.
