Lunay’s first romantic date was a trip to the movies. “I’m thankful that she paid for everything. I had nothing and thank God I do today,” says the artist, who admits that he still doesn’t know how to dance and hopes that he’ll meet a single girl who can show him some moves.
The phrase he uses most is “I’m hungry,” so his favorite Puerto Rican meal is mofongo (mashed green plantains) with shrimp.
Lunay has a tattoo that says “be the light” that for him means being the light of darkness. “You don’t need to fall into the bad or do bad things to be able to shine and succeed in life.”
When he was little, Lunay had a hard time sleeping, but his mother helped him by making a special herb soup that helped him rest.
In addition to music, he is a FIFA fan and his favorite place in Puerto Rico is the mountainous town of Ciales, where he loves to ride motorcycles.
Finally, Lunay says the best thing about being a Latin artist is that people around the world not only recognize his talent for being Latino, but also get to know his Puerto Rican traditions.
