“What kind of country are we?” asks Latin superstar Luis Fonsi in an Instagram post protesting the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” immigration policy that is separating children from their parents.“This is a complete violation of human rights!”
Fonsi posted a photo of a small boy encaged in one of the U.S. government’s child immigrant detention camps on Tuesday (June 19).
“I can’t see these videos of little kids being pulled apart from their parents,” Fonsi wrote. “All because their parents wanted a better life for them. I just don’t get it. There has to be a better way.”
Music and Hollywood stars like Willie Nelson, John Legend, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Alyssa Milano, Mark Hamill, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Judd Apatow, Kumail Nanjiani, Piper Perabo, Common and many more have denounced the policy.
