During their concert in Iowa over the weekend, Los Tigres del Norte officially endorsed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton while also condemning Republican nominee Donald Trump’s insults toward Mexican immigrants.
“We are tired of people calling us rapists and criminals,” singer Jorge Hernández told the crowd. “And that is why today, your friends Los Tigres del Norte endorse and support Hillary Clinton to be the next president. We invite you to vote for her like we will be doing.”
It’s not the first time Los Tigres del Norte — considered the voice of the immigrant community — have condemned Trump’s offensive comments toward the immigrant community. Back in November, the “Jefes de Jefes” took the stage at the Latin Grammys with rock band Maná holding up a sign that read “Latinos, united, don’t vote for the racists.”
During their concert in Los Angeles in June, the “Somos más americanos” singers dedicated their concert to “all the young people who emigrated to this country and are now lawyers and that defend our people. And to all the hardworking people in this country.”
