After a nine-year recording break, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs are in the studio making a “rock opera” to be titled La Salvación for release in 2016.
“La Salvación is the story of two boys being raised by their father in a house near a lighthouse on the sea,” LFC bassist Sr. Flavio, a founding member of the 30-year-old group, told Billboard. He is writing the “conceptual album” together with the band’s frontman, Vicentico.
Flavio and Vicentico’s own sons, Florian and Astor, recently joined the band on stage during a sold-out show for a crowd of over 60,000 people at Mexico City’s Foro Sol.
The influential Argentine ska band is revered throughout the Spanish-speaking world for now classic songs like “Matador”, “Vasos Vacios”, “Mal bicho,” and “Yo No Me Sentaria en tu Mesa.” The group’s last album was 2009’s El Arte de la Elegancia.
