Indie Latin alternative band Locos Por Juana is debuting the music video for “Se Fue La Luz,” featuring Chocquibtown, exclusively on Billboard. The upbeat single is from the group’s forthcoming album Caribe, out Oct. 7.
A colorful clip, shot in Barranquilla, Colombia’s historic El Barrio Abajo neighborhood, radiates its rich Caribbean culture and builds up to a festive dance party. The video will be widely released on Friday.
“Filming the video in Barranquilla, Colombia, was magical,” Locos Por Juana vocalist Itawe Correa tells Billboard. “Especially when you know that this beautiful city is one of the birthplaces of Colombian folklore.”
Both bands have strong ties to the South American country. The founding members of Locos Por Juana, created in 2000 in Miami, each have Colombian roots. Meanwhile, the Colombian-bred Chocquibtown is based in the city of Bogota.
Caribe will be available for pre-order on Friday and includes a range of collaborations, including features from Collie Buddz and Talib Kweli. The set is the band’s first full-length release since 2012’s Somos De La Calle.
