Italian diva Laura Pausini and Mexican pop star Thalia, dressed in bright, theatrical whites, share nearly four minutes of screen time with nothing but a white screen behind them in the music video for “Sino a Ti” (Only You).
The high-concept video, directed by Leandro Manuel Emede and Nicolò Cerioni of Italian production house SUGARKANE PRODUCTIONS, relied solely on the personality and name and image recognition of the artists rather than a storyline. The stunning result premieres online exclusively on Billboard.
“Sino a Ti,” by Pausini featuring Thalia, is one of three new versions that Pausini is including in her Laura Pausini 20 Grandes Exitos (Laura Pausini 20 Greatest Hits) reissue, due Sept. 23. Pausini says the track speaks about the “purest” of love, like that of a mother for a child. Both Pausini and Thalia — who are collaborating for the first time — are new mothers.
In addition to her album relaunch, Pausini is soon to begin her stint as a coach of The Voice Mexico, and is still in the throes of her world tour, which has taken her from Russia to Argentina. Her next U.S. stop is Oct. 18 at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, followed by shows in Las Vegas, Chicago and Atlantic City.
