Romeo Santos & Natti Natasha Perform in DR
Romeo Santos’ Giral de Pueblo has officially kicked off over the weekend with the opening night taking place on Nov. 16 in San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic. Amongst his surprise guests was Natti Natasha, who for the first time performed “La Mejor Version De Mi” bachata version with Santos. “It is an honor to sing this song for the first time and in our country,” the Dominican songstress expressed on Instagram. “Thank you @romeosantos for giving this gift to the people.” Natti also accompanied Santos in other cities, performing other hits such as “Criminal.” The “Tour of the People,” is organized by Telemicro for a total of 15 provinces in the country. In addition to San Cristóbal, Santos has already taken his show to Azua, Barahona, and San Juan de la Maguana.
Maluma Celebrates His Billboard Hit
Maluma’s “11 PM” has hit No. 1 on two Billboard charts this week with the sultry urban bop moving 6-1 on Latin Airplay and reigning the Latin Pop Airplay chart dated Nov. 23. The Colombian singer celebrated his career milestone on Instagram by sharing a small video and captioning it: “This is how my wonderful Monday ends. 11PM is the #1 song in the Latin chart of Billboard in the United States. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, without you, [there’s] NOTHING!”
Mau & Ricky’s Debut Album is Certified
Venezuelan/Argentine duo Mau & Ricky are celebrating this week also because their debut album Para Aventuras y Curiosidades, released on May 3, 2019, via Sony Music Latin, has been certified platinum in the U.S. “The first album by @mauyricky is PLATINUM in the United States! Congratulations!” expressed the record label on social media. “Let the successes continue.” Para Aventuras y Curiosidades is home to 12 songs including their hit singles “La Boca,” “Mi Mala,” “Ya No Tiene Novio” and “Desconocidos.” Watch how the brothers celebrated below.
Daddy Yankee & Nicky Jam Hint At A Los Cangris Comeback
A recent photo posted by both Daddy Yankee and Nicky Jam is hinting at a possible Los Cangris comeback. The two reggaeton veterans shared a pic on Instagram posing together in front of a car and surrounded by a group of people. The photo has fans wondering if the two are dropping a collaboration soon. During the late ‘90s and early ‘00s, Yankee and Jam formed the duo “Los Cangris” and released many hits such as “Guayando,” “Sentirte” and “Sabanas Blancas.”
Rosalia & Afo Verde at Sony Music’s Latin Grammys After Party
Celebrating Latin Grammys’ 20 years of excellence, Sony Music Latin hosted the official afterparty. A star-studded red carpet welcomed some of the biggest names in the industry including Latin Grammy winners Pedro Capó, Kany Garcia, Farruko, Fonseca, Andres Cepeda, Draco Rosa, Rosalia, and best new artist titleholder Nella. The event, which included DJ sets by DJ Victoria Van Damn, DJ Luian, and Play-N-Skillz, took place at the XS Nightclub in Las Vegas and was sponsored by Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Sony Electronics, Entravision, City National Bank, The Orchard, and SESAC. TINI’s First Show in Bogota
TINI and Sebastian Yatra continue to demonstrate that they are Latin music’s cutest couple! This week, the Argentine pop singer performed for the first time in Bogota, Colombia; however, she was joined on stage by her supportive boyfriend to sing their recent single “Oye.” Following the show, TINI expressed her love and admiration on Instagram. “Thanks, Sebitas for joining me yesterday in my first show in Bogotá. You don’t know how much I appreciate it and how much I enjoy sharing these moments with you. I love you with all my heart, thanks for being the best partner,” she noted in the video seen below.
HA*ASH & Ana Barbara Perform at NFL Game
On Monday, Nov. 18, Mexican football fans gathered at the Azteca Stadium to enjoy the seasonal game that took place in Mexico City. At traditional holds, the national anthems of both the host country and the United States, are interpreted before the game. For this special night, Mexican-American duo and sisters Ha*Ash performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” and Mexican diva Ana Bárbara interpreted the Mexican National Anthem. “It’s a true honor to sing for so many people in such incredible events,” Ha*Ash expressed on Instagram. Barbara also shared her excitement, even having a special charro dressed designed for the occasion. Watch the photos below.
