Three of today’s hottest artist-producers — Eduardo Cabra, Juan Pablo Vega and Bizarrap — joined Billboard Latin Music Week as part of the “Latin Producers: The New Stars” panel powered by Warner Music Latina.
During the 25-minute long conversation, moderated by Billboard’s Jessica Roiz, they discussed all things about the Latin music industry, from how they got their foot in the door to the weirdest object they’ve used to create music.
When asked what defines a hitmaker, Cabra, Vega and Bizarrap agreed that the consumer always has the last word. “When I connect with a song, I connect with it,” Vega, who has worked with artists such as Alejandro Sanz and Danny Ocean, said. “It’s not the producer or the artist’s job to develop the song or give it visibility.”
In addition to Vega, the Puerto Rican producer Cabra, who launched his solo artist career this year, and Bizarrap, one of the leading forces of the growing Argentine trap movement, talked about defining their sounds as artist-producers, new musical trends, and more.
