During the 2020 Latin Music Week, Latin executive Walter Kolm — who manages artists such as Maluma, Carlos Vives, Wisin and CNCO — held a conversation with reggaeton star Wisin on how they’re expanding into their own label operations, WK Records (Kolm) and La Base Records (Wisin).
The “Launching the Label” panel, which was powered by Lexus and moderated by Enrique Santos, chairman and CCO of iHeartLatino, touched on important topics such as discovering new talent and how they’re creating new and novel marketing and promotions strategies in the music business.
“The mission was to have a new platform for talented people who never had the opportunity to do something in the industry and I think that we are instrumental,” Wisin said, assuring that this is the beginning of great things. “We want to develop new artists. We don’t want to compete, we want to contribute to those who want to grow in the industry.”
