The 20th annual Latin Grammy Awards are officially 10 days away. Just two months after the Latin Recording Academy unveiled the nominees, crowning Alejandro Sanz as this year’s top nominee with eight mentions, Billboard wants to know who should win best urban song.
This year’s nominees are Ozuna’s “Baila Baila Baila,” De La Ghetto’s “Caliente” featuring J Balvin, Rosalía and J Balvin’s “Con Altura” featuring El Guincho, Sech’s “Otro Trago” featuring Darell, and “Pa’ Olvidarte” by ChocQuibTown. The best urban song category was instituted in 2007, awarding new songs that contain at least 51 percent of the lyrics in Spanish or Portuguese. Previous winners include Calle 13’s “Pa’l Norte” (2007), Flex’s “Te Quiero” (2008), Wisin & Yandel’s “Abusadora” (2009), Don Omar’s “Hasta Que Salga El Sol” (2012,) Enrique Iglesias’ “Bailando” featuring Descemer Bueno and Gente de Zona (2014), and Daddy Yankee’s “Dura” (2018).
The 2019 Latin Grammys will air live Nov. 14 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas via Univision.
