Legendary Venezuelan-Italian singer-songwriter Yordano is asking followers to support his crowdfunding campaign so he can afford emergency health services.
Yordano has been hospitalized in Queens, New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital, needing surgery to replace his femur, which he broke in a fall.
In 2014, he was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer. Yordano, age 66, fully recovered from the cancer but chemotherapy, drastic weight loss and medication took a toll on his immune system and left his bones extremely weakened.
His wife, Yuri Bastidas, is leading the call for economic help to foot the bill for his clinical expenses through the GoFundMe campaign ”Un Manantial de Corazón Para Yordano” (“A Heartfelt River For Yordano”). They have cited the Venezuelan crisis as an obstacle to paying for the medical services he has required since the first diagnosis.
