The Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation is accepting applications from music students for scholarships totaling $700,000.
“Talented music students between the ages of 17-24 years old with financial constraints, admitted to the university of their choice and interested in Latin music are eligible to apply,” the Foundation announced. The funding is part of the Foundation’s “effort to foster and support the next generation of talented musicians, who will continue the legacy of Latin music and its significant contribution to the world’s culture.”
Two kinds of scholarships are available:
Three Gifted Tuition Scholarships of $25,000 annually for four years, for a maximum of $100,000, offered for students to earn a bachelor’s degree in music.
Forty Tuition Assistance Scholarships will be awarded to students pursuing a bachelor’s degree with a maximum allotment of $10,000 each. This is a one-time award that will cover tuition costs and will only be valid for one year of study
“We are pleased once again to help provide talented students with financial constraints a quality music education,” Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation senior vice president Manolo Díaz said via the announcement. “Our work is more relevant than ever as Latin music continues to grow and captivate audiences worldwide.”
The deadline to apply for the scholarships is April 10, 2019.
