At the Latin American Music Awards — broadcasting live Thursday night (Oct. 25) on Telemundo, Royce — will perform twice: once with Maluma and a second time with two unannounced artists.
When talking about his upcoming performance of “El Clavo (Remix)” with Maluma, Royce assured Billboard that despite the steamy music video and raunchy lyrics, it’s “not really a sexy song.”
“If you really listen to the content of the words, the idea came from really empowering women,” he tells Billboard. The true message behind the song, according to Royce, is for women who are unhappy in toxic relationships, whether physically or mentally, to find the strength to get out and move on to someone better.
As for his second performance of the night, Royce didn’t reveal many details other than the song will premiere at the Latin AMAs, it’s a flip of a ’90s song and it’s called “Quiero Saber.”
He also revealed that a lot of music is on the way, including a collaboration with CNCO dropping Friday, a future joint with Anuel AA and Becky G, and a forthcoming bachata song with a “really big artist” who he really admires.
