In the newest episode of Billboard‘s Growing Up Latino series, singer Lali shares her best life memories in Argentina.
“My childhood memories in Argentina are a little different than most, because I started working on television from a very young age,” she says. “But, it was common to play around the neighborhood with friends all day.”
Lali’s family did not have much money, and their holidays were spent visiting other cities in Argentina. But, once Lali started working, many opportunities to travel abroad to places like Mexico, the United States, Colombia, Israel, Spain and Italy emerged. “My first big trips were to do shows or for a shoot on location,” she said.
The music that best describes Argentina is the Tango. “This music comes straight from our heart and the lyrics speak exactly that. They speak about old neighborhoods, towns and being to Porteño (the person that lives in a port city).”
