London’s springtime La Linea Festival will celebrate its 20th edition with concerts by nonagenarian Mexican experimental jazz drummer Tino Contreras, tango iconoclast Melingo, Bebel Gilberto, Juana Molina, and Buenos Aires band-to-watch Fémina.
Portuguese singer Sara Correia and musician Raül Refree (known internationally for his 2017 album with Rosalía, Los Angeles), will present their respective takes on fado. The program also includes a live audio-visual performance of Mexican composer Javier Weyler’s score for the documentary Maradona in Mexico (now on Netflix). More artists are to be announced.
La Linea is set to take place from April 15 to May 4 at various London venues, including Union Chapel, the Royal Festival Hall, the Earth Theatre and Rich Mix arts center.
The London Latin Music Conference (LoLaMC), a music business conference which offers an evening showcase of emerging talent from London’s Latin music scene, will take place on April 24 at Rich Mix.
