Kevin Roldan has been released from jail after his girlfriend accused him of kidnapping and sexual abuse.
Colombian authorities arrested the urban singer after his partner reported that he beat her, sexually abused her and kept her locked up in her own home under the supervision of guards. Roldan was accused of simple kidnapping, carnal access with a person incapable of resisting and intrafamily violence.
According to the Colombian attorney general’s Twitter account, Roldan has been ordered to stay away from the alleged victim following his release. “In recourse appeal filed by Kevin Roldán’s defense, the judge revoked a prison assurance measure, imposed a non-exclusive order consisting of not approaching the victim and rejected prosecutor appeal,” the tweet reads. “He was charged for simple kidnapping, carnal access and intrafamily violence.”
