Colombian pop/urban starlet Karol G is releasing her first single under her new label, Universal Music Latin Entertainment.
“Casi Nada,” out wide March 18, is dance/pop over a synthesized reggaetón beat, and stands out in a Latin world devoid of young, pop female singers.

The mix could work equally well in pop, urban or dance formats; while Karol G (real name Karol Giraldo) has gained traction thanks to collabs with the likes of Nicky Jam and Reykon, her sound — and look — is far more pop than reggaetón or urban.
“Casi Nada” was written by Karol G and produced by Daniel Echevarria.
“My team and I are thrilled,” Karol G told Billboard. “I honestly think that women are going to go crazy [with the single]. It has a very fun and impetuous plot with urban rhythms all the while maintaining its Latin core. This is the first time one of my songs will be exposed on a global level, so my label (Universal Music Latin Entertainment) and I decided that the objective is to create a massive impact which is exactly what we intend to do. We have huge expectations, not far-fetched given the effort and dedication we’ve poured on every single detail. I hope that people dance to it and enjoy every second of it”.
