Kany Garcia has a lot to celebrate at the 2018 Latin Grammys, where she’s up for four nominations, including record of the year and album of the year.
At the Person of the Year gala, honoring Mana, on Wednesday night, the Puerto Rican singer talked about how their music saved her shows at the beginning of her career. “I had 11 songs and about a one-hour show so I would sing Mana covers,” she says to Billboard. “They were always important in my career.”

As for her nominations, Garcia hopes to take some trophies back home to Puerto Rico to celebrate with her family. She also said she’s kicking off 2019 with a tour.
