Capó said that events like One Voice were “very important” calling out that “everybody’s contribution” was needed. “Everyone needs to come together and I’m happy to be a part of it and grateful that we are being heard.”
García recently went to Puerto Rico to help out and see the devastation for herself and mentioned that there are still a lot of things that need to be done and will continue to be that way for a “long way.”
The singers both felt that it was important to connect with the reality of what’s currently going on on the island. “This is the place where we grew up. People are in need,” said Capó. “We’re still going through a mourning process [but] still hopeful. We’re going to get back on our feet but it’s a process.”
