Just days before his concert in San Antonio as part of his Mis Ídolos, Hoy Mis Amigos Tour, Julión Álvarez postponed the show and rescheduled for Nov. 18.
San Antonio is not the only city being affected by sudden changes in tour dates. The show in El Paso, scheduled for Aug. 20, will now take place Nov. 23, while new Tucson and Seattle dates are TBD. Citing logistical and production issues as reasons for the cancellation, Álvarez’s PR team told Billboard they were not aware of any specific details, therefore could not provide further comments.
The trek, produced by Cardenas Marketing Network (CMN), kicked off back in July, making the chart-topping artist the first norteño act to embark on a 22-date arena tour.
During his stop in Los Angeles, the “El amor de su vida” singer told Billboard that his tour was long overdue. “Last year when we first did a couple of arenas and showcased in places we had never visited, we saw that there was a bigger risk and fear of being criticized because of the stigma that comes with this genre. But seeing that it had never been done, we decided to go for it. Plus, we saw that there was a demand for our concerts.”
On his Mis Ídolos, Hoy Mis Amigos Tour, Álvarez is accompanied onstage by his superstar friends Pancho Barraza and El Coyote.
