After the Latin AMAs Fest Summit, which included panel discussions with Ozuna, Wisin & Yandel, actor Eugenio Derbez and more, and the invite-only Latin Power Players cocktail party, Billboard topped off the night with an intimate En Vivo showcase co-headlined by Joss Favela and Piso 21.
The two-hour showcase, which took place Tuesday night at NeueHouse Hollywood, kicked off at 9:15 p.m. with a heartfelt performance by Regional Mexican artist Joss Favela. Wearing black ripped jeans, brown boots and matching brown jacket, Favela, joined by a seven-member band, serenaded the crowd with songs such as “Quiero,” “La Mejor Version de Mi” and his own version of Banda MS’ “Me Vas a Extrañar.”
“It’s such an honor to sing to you tonight because there are so many colleagues and important people of the industry,” he said before taking a sip of his beer and continuing with “Pienso en Ti,” “La Magia de Tus Ojos” and “Tu Aroma,” to name a few. He signed off his 45-minute set with “Te Hubieras Ido Antes.”
After a 20-minute DJ set, Piso 21, wearing matching denim outfits, took the stage to deliver an energetic showcase. The Colombian urban-pop group, composed by Dim, Pablo, Profe and Lorduy, dropped their hits “Besandote,” “La Vida Sin Ti” and “Me Llamas,” the song that, according to them, kicked off their career. “It’s a real pleasure performing for our family and friends. Thank you, Leila Cobo and Billboard, for believing in us,” Dim said before singing their recent trapchera song “Pa’ Olvidarme de Ella” in collaboration with Christian Nodal and the romantic ballad “Puntos Suspensivos.”
One of the highlights of the En Vivo was when Black Eyed Peas’ Taboo joined the boys to perform their Spanglish collab “Mami.” Before jumping offstage, the Mexican-American rapper, whose real name is Jaime Luis Gomez, expressed two things: How he’s proud of his Latino roots and excited to call Piso 21 his new brothers.
Piso 21 then closed off the En Vivo with an exhilarating performance of “Dejala Que Vuelva” and their viral sensation “Te Vi.”
