
For many years, we have seen an increase in millennial artists, such as Luis Coronel and Kevin Ortiz, conquering the Regional Mexican genre. Today, a new millennial star is on the rise, and he is Jonatan Sanchez, an 18-year-old singer born in San Francisco to Mexican parents.
Sanchez’s career took off after the unexpected success of “Trasparente,” which peaked No. 7 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Songs chart.

Name: Jonatan Sanchez
Age: 18
Major Accomplishment: Reached the top 10 of Billboard’s Regional Mexican Songs chart with his previous single “Transparente” (chart dated April 22). His current EP, Necesito Una Compañera, is No. 4 on the Latin Album Sales chart (dated June 17).
Recommended Song: His latest, “Necesito Una Compañera,” a song that he recorded following the request of its original interpreter, Mexican legend Marco Antonio Solis.
What’s Next: After releasing his EP Necesito una Compañera, he’s going to be working on his full-length album, writing and co-writing a lot of the songs. He’s also traveling Mexico, and there are plans to do concerts there and tour the U.S.
