The rumors are true: Janet Jackson and Daddy Yankee are collaborating on a new song. “Made for Now” will drop sooner than you think, as Jackson announced on social media Sunday (Aug. 12), revealing the cover art and release date.
“From my lips…#MadeForNow with @daddyyankee 8/17,” she wrote on Instagram. Jackson also teased fans with the release info at the 11th annual Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival in San Francisco, which she headlined Sunday night. Also on August 17, Jackson will perform the song for the first time live with Daddy Yankee on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon at 11:35 p.m. EST.
“Made For Now” was produced by Harmony Samuels, who has crafted tracks for Ariana Grande, Mary J. Blige, Maroon 5, and Jennifer Lopez.
Shot in Brooklyn, New York, in July, the music video was produced by Grammy-Award winning Director Dave Myers and features a contingent of international dancers from Ghana, Nigeria, Grenada, Trinidad and the U.S. Check out Jackson’s posts below.
