After the Beyoncé surprised the world by jumping on J Balvin and Willy William’s “Mi Gente” remix and rapping in Spanish, one might not have expected an encore. But apparently that wasn’t enough for Balvin, as the Colombian superstar dropped six more “Mi Gente” remixes on Friday (Oct. 20), featuring work by Steve Aoki, Cedric Gervais, Dillon Francis, Alesso, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, and Henry Fong.
Following the Beyoncé remix’s release, the song peaked No. 3 on the Hot 100 and spend one week at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales on the charts dated Oct. 21. Meanwhile, on Latin charts, the song tops Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs for a second week and became the first No. 1 for Willy William and Beyoncé on the chart. “Mi Gente” also leads Latin Airplay chart for five nonconsecutive weeks now.
