Colombian reggaetonero J Balvin confirmed the name and released date of his upcoming LP via social media: Energia drops June 24.
“When I decided to be a reggaeton singer, I remember they told me that I’d waste my energy in a dream that was impossible. But God gave me the gift of faith. And because of that, I’ve been able to materialize all my dreams,” says the “Bobo” singer in a video posted on Instagram with shots of him onstage and in the recording studio with Pharrell.
“Energy is music, energy is the universe. Energy was all of my team, my family, my fans, the people that love and those that don’t. Because of that, I’ve been able to recharge my energy and take it to another level. So, welcome to energy.”
Sky, one of Balvin’s producers, took to social media to reveal the track list of the anticipated album which includes collaborations with Pharrell, Daddy Yankee and Yandel.
The chart-topping artist currently holds two spots on the Hot Latin Songs chart with “Bobo” at No. 3 and “Ginza” at No. 5. His record breaking “Bobo” music video collected 4.9 million views on YouTube in its first 24 hours, a first for debut views in Latin music.
