Reggaetón diva Ivy Queen‘s 10th studio album is a four-in-one project. Titled Vendetta, it features an urban album, a bachata album, a salsa album and, naturally, a hip-hop album, with guest appearances by acts like Vico C, J Alvarez and Andy Montañez. Each album features original material rather than simply versions in different genres.
“That’s why it’s called Vendetta, because I’m getting revenge…my revenge. That’s the type of revenge that I like, music revenge,” Ivy Queen said in an exclusive sit-down interview with Billboard.
Ivy Queen also dished on finding her inner-salsa star (“I’ve got to get in the mood of the old-school music that I know and I was raised with, like Fania All Stars, Celia Cruz, and put it on my own style”) and on balancing motherhood and music (“I just gave birth to my daughter Naiovy, and thank God my in-laws are always there for me. It’s teamwork between the grandparents, my husband and me”).
Vendetta is out Feb. 3 and will be sold as a package in all four formats.
