As he hits the road for his first extensive U.S. headlining tour today (June 13), Ecuadorian-American crooner Helado Negro is celebrating with the release of a new video for his mellow song “Two Lucky.”
The brand-new video is four minutes of pure visual therapy, featuring calming clips of beaches, raindrops and an open road to the tune of soothing acoustics. Meanwhile, the artist born Roberto Carlos Lange shows up only in the form of shadows (outlining his signature afro) and detailed, close-up shots.
Lange says the relaxing visual echoes the song’s meaning of “celebrating and uplifting joy,” and keeping up communication with loved ones while he heads on tour.
“It’s a song that talks about staying in touch with people you love. The video meditates on those in-between moments I’m on the road or traveling — thinking about folks,” he shares. “The first line ‘Take care of people today’ is a call to action to help folks who need help.
“People assume all the folks doing the hard work helping people day to day are okay but they need the most support energy,” he continues. “Sometimes it feels hopeless to not know exactly what will help but I’ve found that supporting and uplifting those folks and also being a friend and talking for a little can nurture their energy.”
“Two Lucky” comes off Lange’s March album This Is How You Smile. Watch the video below, and check out his upcoming tour stops after the jump.
