Iconic Brazilian flip-flop brand Havaianas has launched a new global campaign with Colombian superstar Maluma and Brazilian singer Lellêzinha.
The campaign includes an exclusive trilingual song performed in Spanish, English and Portuguese titled “Let’s Summer” (Veraneemos) and a music video that was shot in Rio De Janeiro. The single is already available in streaming services and the video will be released online this week. In addition, a TV spot will air in Colombia, Brazil and Spain, while the U.S., Europe, Latin America and Asia will have digital campaigns running through July in more than 50 countries.
This marks the first time ever that Havaianas taps an international musician to star in a global campaign. According to a Havaianas spokesperson, the brand was looking for talent that could express the idea that summer is more than a season, and found in Maluma the perfect match.
Havaianas is a 55-year-old brand that turned flip flops into a fashion accessory. Since its launch, more than 5 billion pairs of Havaianas have been sold and, according to the brand, 94% of Brazilians own a pair.
