Luis Fonsi has a great reason to celebrate big today (April 15) — it’s his 40th birthday!
And with the Billboard Latin Music Awards getting closer, what better way to celebrate Fonsi’s birthday than going back in time and remembering his big moments at the awards show over the years.
The Puerto Rican singer has performed eight times in the BLMA studio. His first time was in 2001 and the most recent was in 2017 when he sang the worldwide hit “Despacito” for the first time with Daddy Yankee.
Fonsi has won four Billboard Latin Music Awards, including the Hope Award in 2017 for his community efforts. In 2010, he took home awards in the categories Latin Pop Airplay Song of the Year, Latin Pop Airplay Artist of the Year, Male and Latin Pop Albums Artist of the Year, Solo.
