Just a month before the 2018 Billboard Latin Music Awards, Telemundo announced the official hosts of the annual ceremony which will take place at Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas on Thursday, April 26. Gaby Espino and Marco Antonio Regil will present the live awards show.
This year, Telemundo is celebrating the 20th uninterrupted broadcast of the Billboard Latin Music Awards. For that reason, Billboard spoke with Espino and Regil to get to know them as hosts and to find out about their music taste.
See the Q&A below.
What is your best memory of the Billboard Latin Music Awards?
Espino: Since I have been a host in the past, my best memory of the Billboard Latin Music Awards is myself dancing and enjoying the three hours of the show.
Regil: My best memory is to see artists breaking the record. Like when Romeo Santos took home all the awards.
How has music influenced you as a person and as a professional?
Espino: I love music, especially urban music. I am a ‘reggaetonera.’ And music inspires me a lot, to exercise, to have a good day.
Regil: I was a radio host, so music has been part of my life. Music makes our soul and heart happy.
Who is your favorite artist of all time?
Between the “Dura” and “X” challenge, which one is your favorite?
Espino: I can’t choose one, so I’ll say both!
Regil: Same here, I love both.
