When Vevo unveiled its dscvr artists to watch list for 2018 earlier this month, there was a single Latin act among its 20 selections: Colombia’s Feid (Feh-eed).
Feid, who Billboard highlighted as an Artist on the Rise last May, first made inroads as one of the writers behind J Balvin’s hit “Ginza.” Since then, he’s been busy working on his own stuff, and last week, he released his debut album, Así como suena (As It Sounds), titled as a reference to the pronunciation of his name (Feid’s real name is Salomón Villada Hoyos).
Out on Universal imprint In-Tu-Linea, Así como suena features Feid’s own brand of melodic reggaeton with a penchant for storytelling. New single “Ahora” is all about a two-timing girl who, in the video, has no problem making out with Feid in his car while her current boyfriend waits inside a restaurant for her (yikes!).
Here’s a first look at the provocative video, directed by Medellin-based producer Lexx and inspired in the early days of reggaeton, albeit with the tables turned.
