Bad Bunny hasn’t announced a proper debut album, but already the Puerto Rican recording artist is something akin to the poster child of trap music in contemporary urban Latin music, garnering co-signs from the likes of Farruko and J Balvin, down to Philly rapper Meek Mill and NBA star LeBron James.
Nabbing a coveted Latin Grammy nomination this year, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio is even being touted a fashion god in hip-hop en Español, with his “loud and colorful” wardrobe of high-water pants and vibrant custom jewelry pieces.
“My culture absolutely influences how I dress,” Bad Bunny explained to Billboard. “I’m from Puerto Rico. It’s a tropical island where it almost always feels like summer.”
His approach to fashion, however, isn’t exactly the same for music. El Conejo Malo’s lyrical steez is syrupy in sound and chopped and screwed in cadence, with hooks and couplets that are more melodious and bouncy than in-your-face or razor-sharp.
He quickly rose to prominence on the strength of songs like “Soy Peor” and “Dile,” but which is your favorite Bad Bunny cut so far? Write it in below!
