For his new single “Delincuente” featuring Anuel AA and Kendo Kaponi, Farruko revived the chorus from Don Omar’s 2006 reggaeton anthem “Bandolero” featuring Tego Calderon. “Delincuente” addresses Farruko’s legal situation and exposes the feelings of someone who regrets his or her past mistakes, making it a new anthem for today’s youth.
Over the weekend, both Farruko and Don Omar shared the stage at the 2019 Puro Latino Fest in Spain to perform “Delincuente” and hint that they are teaming up for the song’s remix.
“The bandit and delinquent give goosebumps live,” Farruko expressed on Instagram. “Professor Don Omar, thank you for your advice and for being that artist who I’ve always admired and made me become who I am today. Lebron is Lebron because Jordan existed first, don’t forget that. It’s a dream come true having the opportunity to play with you in the same court and for your to admire and respect me always. King, I think that ‘Delincuente’ already has a remix.”
Don Omar also stated on his Instagram account: “We have a remix!” “It’ll always be a pleasure sharing the stage with you,” he replied to Farru. “I’m glad to see you grow based on your mistakes just as I did. It is the only way we learn, in practice, not in theory.”
Billboard has reached out to Farruko’s team for comment.
