It’s the battle of the Latin crooners.
Pop star Enrique Iglesias, bachata king Romeo Santos and salsa/pop icon Marc Anthony will duke it out to see who wins the AMA for Favorite Latin Artist of the year.
If you’re getting a little déjà vu, you’re justified, as all three guys have been nominated before.
In fact, Anthony won just last year, where he faced off in the Latin category against Santos and another bachata crooner, Prince Royce.
But last year Anthony was riding high on the wave of “Vivir Mi Vida,” the runaway Latin hit song of the year. This time, that honor belongs to Iglesias’ “Bailando” which is hot, hot, hot, having notched its 23rd week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart. And while Anthony is in the midst of his U.S. tour, so is Enrique, a 12-time AMA nominee who last won the award in 2008.
And then, of course, there’s Santos, who became something of a legend after selling out two Yankee Stadiums this summer. Plus, his Formula, Vol. II, is still — by a BIG margin — the top-selling Latin album of the year so far.
