Mexican pop star Emmanuel is set to record an MTV Unplugged set as part of their live concert series on June 15 in the iconic venue Frontón México.
The “Toda la vida” singer’s special, to be produced and directed by Aureo Baqueiro, will air later this year throughout Latin America and the U.S. on MTV Latinoamérica
“It is an honor to be part of this select group of artists who have recorded an MTV Unplugged. I am ready to disconnect and share another side of my music in an intimate setting accompanied by friends,” the singer/songwriter said in a statement.

“We want to welcome Emmanuel to the MTV Unplugged stage,” Tiago Worcman, SVP & Brand Manager of MTV Latinoamérica y Brazil, said in a statement. “He is one of the most iconic artists in Latin pop that has an envious career and hits that have transcended barriers and generations.”
MTV Latinoamérica’s VP of Music & Talent Marc Zimet added: “Emmanuel continues to be an unstoppable force and an undeniable influence in current Latin pop music.”
Emmanuel joins other Latin superstars like Pepe Aguilar, Julieta Venegas, Los Tigres del Norte and most recently Miguel Bosé to tape an Unplugged.
Artists to join Emmanuel onstage are yet to be announced, but in the past he’s collaborated with stars like Mijares — with whom he recently toured in Mexico and the U.S. with Tour Amigos — and Juan Luis Guerra.
