Dua Lipa has joined forces with J Balvin, Bad Bunny and Tainy, three of the biggest names in reggaeton, to bring to life “Un Dia [One Day]” out today (July 23).
Fusing the best of both worlds, the Spanglish bop laces seducing melodies of dream pop and flairs of dancehall and reggaeton. In his verse, Bad Bunny even samples part of Tito El Bambino and Jadiel’s 2007 “Sol, Playa y Arena,” adding a touch of old-school reggaeton.
With a chorus that says “one day you’ll love me again / one day you’ll love me for sure / one day you’ll wake up feeling how I’ve been feeling baby and knock on my door,” the lyrics of “Un Dia [One Day]” reflect nostalgia, love, and heartbreak.
The star-studded collaboration, released by Universal Music Latin Entertainment and which was executive produced by NEON16’s Tainy and Lex Borrero, was born over a year and a half ago after Tainy cut the demo and immediately thought of Balvin, who later sought Dua Lipa. Bunny was the last artist to jump on the track, who cut his vocals the same evening he recorded his 2019 banger “Callaita.”
Directed by STILLZ, the official music video, shot in black-and-white and hues of blues, stars Spanish actress Ursula Corbero, best known for her role in La Casa de Papel (Money Heist). Corbero shot her entire sequence on her own without a production crew.
