Urban music superstar and Latin Grammy winner Daddy Yankee will take center stage at this year’s Billboard Latin Music Conference alongside executives from MetroPCS to discuss how relationships between brands and artists can help influence and maximize consumer reach.
Titled “The Art of Creative Partnering,” the innovative panel will take place April 28 at The Ritz-Carlton in South Beach, Miami, the headquarters for this year’s conference.
“We’ve really found a partner in Daddy Yankee that’s worked great alongside our agency Richards/Lerma. It’s exciting to harness his creative vision and help in our efforts to reach multicultural consumers,” said Javier Figueroa, marketing director at MetroPCS.
A native of Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, and a reggaeton pioneer, Yankee has sold more than 11 million albums worldwide and has surpassed 1 billion views on his Vevo channel, along with more than 38 million social media followers across all platforms.
Currently a coach on Telemundo’s La Voz Kids singing competition series, Yankee is also among the first performers announced for this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards, airing live April 30 on Telemundo from the BankUnited Center in Miami. The ceremony, hosted this year by Gaby Espino and Pedro Fernandez, will wrap up the Billboard Latin Music Conference, running from April 27 to 30 at The Ritz-Carlton in South Beach.
Now in its 26th year, the Billboard Latin Music Conference has a stellar lineup in store for 2015. CNN Español host Ismael Cala will deliver the opening keynote, Romeo Santos will sit down with Billboard’s Leila Cobo for the “Star” Q&A,” and Carlos Santana will relive his incredible journey in the music industry over the past 40 years for the “Legends” Q&A. The three-day conference will also feature additional panels and sessions with some of Latin music’s biggest names, including J Balvin, Ivy Queen, Luis Coronel and more.
