Chayanne shared his new music video for “Que Me Has Hecho” feat. Wisin on Wednesday (May 24) and in an interview with Billboard explained how the song was born from what he calls “the evolution of musical formats.”
The Daniel Duran-directed clip was filmed at Universal Studios Orlando where they recreated Brooklyn streets with kids playing basketball, street vendors and crowded cafés.

“Que Me Has Hecho” is Chayanne’s first urban song. Speaking with Billboard, he explained the whole process of this new single, how he wound up connecting with Wisin, creating the music video and more.
Your new single “Que Me Has Hecho” has some rhythms that you had not recorded before but are very popular, how did you decide to record a pop/urban song?
Everything is changing. The system of musical formats is changing. Then, with all this musical evolution you feel the changes, you grow with it and you evolve. At the musical level, I can work with everything that is organic and realistic. If you can make pop fusions with rhythms like urban, reggaetón, salsa and merengue then that is my style. ”Que Me Has Hecho” was born from the evolution of musical formats.
You’ve built a reputation for romantic songs, but this one is different. How would you describe this song?
It has a very cheerful lyrics, also I’m still singing to love. I am very happy, it was amazing to work with Wisin and the song is receiving great support.
How was to work with Wisin?
Working with Wisin was a pleasure. Very good energy, we both felt very comfortable and it was a mutual pleasure. This energy was felt in the studio and we worked very comfortably. And we feel 100 percent satisfied with the song.
Do you have any anecdotes about the video?
We did not know where we were going to film it. We thought of several countries like Ecuador, Colombia, Puerto Rico. We really had to sit and check the agendas to determine the location. The video was made with an excellent group of people. We all sang on the street; Wisin and I laughed a lot.
During the interview, Chayanne also answered some fun questions in our game “My First …”
First concert as a fan: “I think my first concert as a fan was Rocio Jurado, normally I was the one singing but, I used to sneak behind the curtains to see others like El Gran Combo, Ruben Blades or Julio Iglesias. In good times… Celine Dion, Madonna and Michael Jackson.”
First love song you dedicated: “Para amar yo nací”
How did you spend your first big paycheck: “I followed my parents advice… I deposited in the bank. Then I realized that I could get a bunch of things so I bought a motorcycle.”
Your first vacation: “I went to the beach in Puerto Rico.”
Do you remember your first car?: “Yes, Mazda 626 with sunroof!”
