
Billboard Latin Music Week is a month away, and Wisin & Yandel are getting ready to be panelists for the Iconic Songwriter Q&A by Sony ATV.
With more than 20 years of experience, Wisin & Yandel have created a history of hits as a legendary duo in the Latin urban genre. During the panel, they will discuss how they became successful as songwriters even when they went their separate ways for five years.
For that reason, Billboard has gathered their chart successes as a duo while we wait for their panel at Latin Music Week, which takes place from April 22-25 at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas.
-In the midst of Wisin & Yandel’s Como Antes U.S. tour promo campaign, which kicked off with eight dates at Coliseo de Puerto Rico on Nov. 30, the duo’s “Reggaeton En Lo Oscuro” landed in the Latin Airplay chart’s top 10, rocketing 12-3 on the Jan. 19, 2019 ranking.
-Their 10th studio album Los Campeones del Pueblo / The Big League debuted at No. 2 on the Top Latin Albums chart (dated Dec. 29, 2018).
-Wisin & Yandel have scored 23 top 10 hits as a duo on the Latin Airplay chart. They continue to hold the sixth-most top 10s on the list overall and the most top 10s for a duo.
-On the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart, they place as runners-up for the second-most No. 1s (16) and second-most top 10s (31) on the list, trailing only Daddy Yankee, who leads with 19 No. 1s and 44 top 10s, respectively.
-They have 42 charted titles on the Hot Latin Songs chart and 21 top 10s — 10 of which hit No. 1, including the smash “Algo Me Gusta De Ti,” featuring Chris Brown and T-Pain, which topped the list for 14 nonconsecutive weeks starting Oct. 20, 2012.
-They have 37 charted titles on the Latin Airplay chart with 23 top 10s — and 12 out of those No. 1s, including “Llamé Pa’ Verte,” their first chart-topper which peaked at No. 1 on the April 1, 2006-dated chart, and “Follow the Leader” with Jennifer Lopez, which earned the duo their second leader on the chart when the song hit No. 1 on July 7, 2012, ruling for two weeks.
-They have 44 charted titles on the Latin Rhythm Airplay chart, with 31 top 10s — 16 of which went to No. 1, including the hits “Rakata,” which peaked at No. 1 on Oct. 1, 2005, leading for 12 nonconsecutive weeks; “Sexy Movimiento,” which debuted at No. 1 on Nov. 3, 2007, where it remained for 14 consecutive weeks; “Me Estás Tentando,” featuring Nesty, which topped the list on Jan. 31, 2009, leading for 11 consecutive weeks; and “Algo Me Gusta De Ti,” featuring Chris Brown and T-Pain, which topped the list for 13 nonconsecutive weeks starting Sept. 22, 2012.
-On the Top Latin Albums chart, they have 15 total entries with nine top 10s — five of which hit No. 1, including the albums Pa’l Mundo which debuted at No. 1 on Nov. 26, 2005 and reigned for four consecutive weeks, Wisin vs.Yandel: Los Extraterrestres, which peaked at No. 1 on Nov. 24, 2007, leading for four nonconsecutive weeks, and Líderes, which debuted at No. 1 on July 21, 2012 and ruled for five nonconsecutive weeks.
-On the Latin Rhythm Albums chart, they have 14 total entries with 12 top 10s — 7 of which went to No. 1, including the hits Wisin vs. Yandel: Los Extraterrestres, which peaked at No. 1 on Nov. 24, 2007, leading for 24 nonconsecutive weeks; La Revolución, which debuted at No. 1 on June 13, 2009, reigning for 41 nonconsecutive weeks; Los Vaqueros: El Regreso, which debuted at No. 1 on Feb. 12, 2011, ruling for 15 nonconsecutive weeks; and Líderes, which debuted at No. 1 on July 21, 2012, and ruled for 30 nonconsecutive weeks.
-On the Billboard 200, La Revolución became the duo’s highest-charting title as it debuted at No. 7 on June 13, 2009.
