Billboard Latin Music Week has started, and The New Starmakers panel was the perfect opportunity for new, upcoming artists to learn how to be successful in the music industry and also discuss how women are taking over in Latin music.
During the panel — moderated by Billboard associate editor Justino Aguila — Noah Assad from Rimas Entertainment; Vicente Saavedra, VP Entertainment/Dimelo Vi; and Luis Del Villar, Gerencia 360 Music Inc. discussed how important quality content for a rising artist it is important instead having too many songs without a message to bring.
Another important topic covered in the panel was how to manage social media platforms. Del Villar, Saavedra and Assad explained that when a song is out, it should have a social media plan because depending on the success, it can help to build a base as an artist.
About working and helping women to grow, Vicente Saavedra said, “It’s a good time for women. Before, the [urban] genre didn’t assimilate because it was ‘machista.’ The women defended themselves. They will take over.”
