On Thursday (Sept. 23), Billboard announced that it will be launching a new video series on Sept. 27 titled Cultura Clash to spotlight Latin artists and influencers and discuss trending topics within the Latin culture and music. The show will be hosted by AJ Ramos, prominent Latin music and culture executive, who will drive conversations and provide nuanced views on issues within the Latin space that affect both fans and the industry at large.
The first episode of Cultura Clash — which was filmed during Billboard‘s Latin Music Week — will feature stars Goyo, Kany Garcia, Tostao and Yotuel Romero in discussion on the importance of Latin artists in supporting social justice issues. Cultura Clash will include singers, songwriting, producers and actors as guests on the show and will feature Ally Brooke, Kali Uchis, Paloma Mami, Elena Rose, Jimmy Humilde, Ovy on the Drums, Banda MS manager and founder Sergio Lizárraga and more.
“We’re thrilled to expand our video slate through a series that represents diverse voices and topics,” said Julian Holguin, president of Billboard. “In launching Cultura Clash, we hope to spark though-provoking and insightful conversations, while encouraging fans, influencer and industry leaders to connect with one another and Latin culture as a whole.”
Leila Cobo, vp, Latin industry lead at Billboard added, “This past year has brought conversations on equality, social justice, gender and cultural identity to center stage. We couldn’t be more excited to have some of the most influential artists and creators explore these topics through the lens of Latin music and culture, hopefully driving discussions around other impactful topics in the future.”
The forthcoming series will premiere new episodes every Wednesday on Billboard.com, social media and on Billboard‘s YouTube channel. Cultura Clash is executive produced by Billboard’s Shira Brown, Lee Schneller and Leila Cobo, and produced by Jessica Roiz, Griselda Flores, Lesley Corral and Jordyn Rolling, alongside AJ Ramos, Nayira Castellanos and Candice Stephenson.
