Puerto Rican urban singer Yandel has released The One, his sixth studio album as a solo act, on Friday (Mar. 29).
For this album, Yandel decided not to include collaborations, which is a somewhat unique move nowadays. “One of the reasons why we named it The One is because, unlike other musical projects, it is presented mainly through my voice and without the participation of guest artists,” Yandel said in a press release.
The One was recorded at Criteria Studios in Miami. It was produced by Yandel with Tainy, Jumbo (el que produce solo), Los Harmonicos, Gaby Music, Luny, PJ, Nesty “La Mente Maestra,” IamChino, Jimmy Joker, Earcandy, Jorge Gomez, Dimelo Flow, Sharo Towers, Magnífico and Soür (Adrian Veguilla Espada) in his first collaboration with his father.
The 17 tracks included on the set range from romantic to trap, and more than a few are dancefloor-ready. Here are our favorites:
“Dime,” a track about being in love with someone who doesn’t care about the relationship.
“Tequila,” the song that you’ll dance to over and over.
“Mia Mia,” the perfect song to dedicate to that special person when you find the love of your life.
“Que No Acabe,” which is what you feel when you’re spending time with the person you like, and you don’t want the moment to be over.
“Pa Que Goce,” a nice and sweet trap song.
This year, Yandel will be participating at the “Iconic Songwriter Q&A” panel with Wisin during Billboard Latin Music Week which is taking place at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas on April 23-24.
