The 16th annual Premios Juventud gala was celebrated on Thursday (July 18), and Latin stars took over the stage, leaving their soul in every live performance.
Artists like Romeo Santos, Farruko, Maluma and Karol G performed, along with the new generation of singers like Angela Aguilar, Guaynaa, Lunay and Tini.
Check out our picks for the five best performances below.
Karol G – “Ocean”
Karol G showed that she can sing more than urban music. For the unexpected performance, she recruited a girls’ choir and a female pianist.
Farruko, Anuel AA – “Delincuente”
Farruko and Anuel’s performance served as an example for young folks about how one can overcome difficult real-life situations.
Angela Aguilar, Pipe Bueno and Christian Nodal – “Volver, Volver,” “Sombras,” “Mi Gusto Es,” and “Cielito Lindo” medley
Angela Aguilar, Pipe Bueno and Christian Nodal made clear that the regional Mexican genre also has a new generation of artists. The Pepe Aguilar-produced segment served as a nice break from all of the urban performances, too.
Maluma, Sech, Dalex, Lenny Tavárez and Farruko – “HP” and “Que Más Pues”
Maluma showed his evolution as an artist over the years with his solo performance of “HP.”
Romeo Santos ft. Frank Reyes and El Chaval de la Bachata – “Payasos” and “Canalla” medley
Musical legends can also captivate with their music; Romeo Santos is the proof. Performing two songs from his latest album Utopia, Santos brought the traditional bachata to a show otherwise dominated by urban.
Pedro Capó ft. Lali & Farruko – “Calma (Remix)”
Pedro Capó and Farruko’s performance with Lali was the perfect fit for the show, because it brought the summer vibes that the PJs are known for.
