
Good Friday is a Christian holiday that’s observed during Holy Week on the Friday preceding Easter Sunday. Although there is no traditional celebration, members of the Christian denominations, such as Catholic and Lutheran, observe the widely legal holiday with fasting and church services.

Juan Luis Guerra 4.40 – “En el cielo no hay hospital”
Juan Luis Guerra, who will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2019 Billboard Latin Music Awards next week, released a Christian album called Colección Cristiana in 2012. Staying true to his merengue and bachata melodies, Guerra preaches beautiful messages as heard in “En el cielo no hay hospital.”
Hector Delgado – “Acuerdate de Mi”
In 2010, after becoming one of the pioneers of reggaeton, many years of concerts, music videos, and awards show, founding member Hector Delgado of Hector & Tito decided to drop his fame and dedicate his life to the pursuit of faith. “Acuerdate de Mi” was released in 2018 as part of his biopic Conoceras la Verdad.
Alex Campos – “Al Taller del Maestro”
Colombian Christian singer, Alex Campos, is a three-time Latin Grammy winner who tours the world singing about faith. In 2002 he launched his second album titled Al Taller del Maestro (To God’s Workshop), home to the popular title track that was later revamped to mariachi for his 2017 album Momentos.
Tercer Cielo – “Toma Mi Mano”
Tercer Cielo, founded by Dominican singer Juan Carlos and his wife, Mexican-American singer Evelyn Herrera, has been declaring their faith in the language of young love ballads since 2000. In March, they surprised their 1.4 million fans on Instagram with a romantic and heartfelt song titled “Toma Mi Mano.”
Jaci Velasquez – “Grande eres Dios”
Houston-born singer Jaci Velasquez continues making music and touring throughout the U.S. and beyond, inspiring audiences around the world with her bilingual tracks. The 2017 release of Trust included the same album in Spanish with fan favorite tracks such as “I Will Call” and “God Who Moves the Mountains.”
Ricardo Montaner ft. Evaluna Montaner – “La Gloria de Dios”
“La Gloria de Dios” is the closing track in Ricardo Montaner’s 2012 studio album titled Viajero Frecuente. The song, which currently amasses over 145 million views on YouTube, was co-written by Montaner and late Italian-born, Venezuelan-raised producer Pablo Manavello and features Montaner’s daughter, Evaluna.
