Less than a month after being shot in the neck after a concert in Mexico City on July 2, Banda MS‘ Alan Ramírez took to social media to thank his fans for all their support. “Everything is almost ready for me to be with you guys again, thanks for all your prayers,” tweeted the singer along with a photo of him at the pier of Mazatlán, Sinaloa.

During an interview on Univision’s show El Gordo Y La Flaca, Ramírez spoke for the first time about the night of the shooting, where someone hit the truck he was traveling in along with other band members. “After the show, I was on my way to the hotel to have dinner with my wife and in a matter of seconds, I heard a very loud noise like something had cracked. I was still able to turn my head to see when the back window glass shattered, then I felt that I had been hit on my neck and was bleeding.”
When the ambulance never showed up, Ramírez was taken to Hospital Español where he had surgery to remove the bullet that had crossed his neck. The 28-year-old singer said during the interview that they still don’t know who the shooter was..
Ramírez is now in recovery and is expected to return to the stage Aug. 12. Banda MS had to reschedule three concerts this month in Los Angeles that will now take place Aug. 18-20 at the Microsoft Theater.
