Urban artists Bad Bunny and Residente unexpectedly visited Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Rosselló at his residence at La Fortaleza on Thursday night to talk about crime and the education system in the country.
The initiative comes after the news of the fatal shooting of trap artist Kevin Fret on the island. Before being able to meet with the governor, both artists documented their efforts by doing an Instagram Live from Bad Bunny’s account in which they were seen walking down Fortaleza Street in Old San Juan, where the governor’s residence is located. (El Nuevo Dia provided a copy of the video. Watch it here.)
“We come to talk about crime and education,” Residente told the police when arriving at the gates. “Roselló is sleeping,” the policeman says.
Both artists continue to insist and, hours later, they get their meeting. Bad Bunny, Residente and Governor Roselló shared the moment on social media.
Governor Roselló tweeted: “Crime is everyone’s business. I appreciate @Residente and @sanbenito took time to talk about what we are already doing and expand the initiatives to address security.”
Atender el crimen es un asunto de todos. Agradezco el rato @Residente y @sanbenito para conversar sobre lo que ya estamos haciendo, y ampliar las iniciativas para atender la seguridad. https://t.co/kHudxzgpga
