Since making her highly celebrated debut on Love & Hip Hop Miami, Amara La Negra has been on the come-up. The South Florida-born Dominican singer has just signed to global entertainment and literary agent United Talent Agency, Billboard learned Wednesday (Feb. 7).
After years of running tours throughout Latin America and appearing on Spanish-language television, the actress and model continues to capitalize on her newly found intercontinental stardom as UTA readies to represent the multifaceted talent in branded entertainment initiatives and career expenditure across music, entertainment, film and philanthropy.
“I am excited to embark on this new extension in my career with UTA,” Amara tells Billboard. “With a team expanding that represents my brand and what I, as an entertainer represent, it feels amazing to have a brand with such a dynamic and diverse spectrum believe in me.”
The news comes after Billboard reported in January that Amara signed to Fast Life Entertainment Worldwide and BMG for a multimillion-dollar and multi-album record deal. Upon signing, Amara was paired with prolific producers, including Rock City, Supa Dups and Jim Jonsin for her next catalog of music. An avid philanthropist, Amara has also performed at benefit concerts such as the American Cancer Society and is an activist for racial equality.
